Therapy involves helping people identify accessible avenues for healthy change. It involves helping people understand aspects of their behavior and thoughts that may be complicating their change process. Therapy, of course, involves supporting people as they make the changes that let them access the options that work best for them.
Making changes—even small ones—can be very challenging. Changes require commitment, courage, practice, and acknowledgment of the small gains that occur along the way to lasting change. Changes start with a greater acceptance of self and one’s situation—another reason why change is not a simple process.
